Okay for all of you who have been asking. I work at a place that supplies and supports credit card machines. If you really want to learn more about it click here. Or if you don't, here is a simpler explanation. We distribute the credit card swiping machines (terminals) and get merchants approved to accept cards like American Express and Discover. There are lots of other things we help businesses do, but that's the general idea. So yeah. There you go! I enjoy the people I work with and am happy to be making money.
Okay, but no more work talk. I'm done thinking about work for today.
Let's talk about dinner.
I think I can actually handle having a full time job and still pull off my meal making. Today I used my lunch break to go home and start making preparations for dinner for later. It turned out fabulously. We had spaghetti with home made spaghetti sauce (minus making it with my own tomatoes, nor growing them for that matter), green beans, Italian meatballs, Italian Sodas and ROUND ROCK DONUTS for dessert! If you want to see more about those donuts, and you should, go to your netflix account (if you have one, and if you don't you need to sign up because it rocks) type in Man vs. Food, and watch the episode about Austin. DO IT!
Sorry I don't have pictures. Food photography is hard anyway. Did you know that on the front of cereal boxes they use glue instead of milk in the picture? Exactly what I'm talking about.
Well kiddos, over and out for now.

A.D.D.
Good news!
Yes, my dear readers, I have obtained a job. Actually, it scares me to say that because for some reason I still think it's not real. Like they'll fire me on the first day or something.
But it also means farewell to my eat-breakfast-in-bed-while-in-my-comfies-watchingmyfavoriteshowslikeall7seasonsofGrey'sAnatomy-do-whatever-I-want-all-day-ness. It's kind of sad for me.
I have really enjoyed getting so crafty and home-makery. But, without money, crafts and cooking can only go so far. Although he won't admit it, I'm sure Glen is getting sick of alternating between vegetarian, chicken breast, and ground beef meals. So, this will be my new challenge: Trying to keep my new self while integrating my old, hard-working business woman self into one awesome wonder woman.
Yikes.
So, I have also been trying to kick my A.D.D. out of my system. Did you know that I have A.D.D? Well, now you do. I've been medicated since my junior year of high school and it has helped me in abundance. College grad here! Anyway, I've been slowly lowering my dosages trying to ween myself off my medication. This can only happen if you force yourself to develop habits that will stick once you're off. Well, in honor of my getting a new job, I thought I'd go without my medication today, just to see how it goes.
It went well at first, I got up at a reasonable time, got ready, and got out of the house before 10:30, an accomplishment in itself.
Then I went to the store in search of the toilet paper I forgot to buy yesterday while grocery shopping.
I went to H-E-B, Target, Michaels, Office Depot, and Dollar Tree.
I came back with bags full of stuff.
And no toilet paper.
I'll be taking my medicine on Monday morning.

Bored & Burrowed
You guys.
I need something to blog about, but I've got nothing! I still owe you some pictures, but when Glen gets home I always forget to snatch his jump drive.
Not much is new! Glen officially accepted a second internship in Pennsylvania this summer! I was hoping to end up in Utah or Arizona for at least half of the summer, but I figure if we are going to go to a "new" place, this summer would be it. Next summer we will want to get internships in places we will want to end up living, and TX and PA (although lovely places) are not those. We'll be staying with Glen's brother and hopefully bounce around to some of Glen's friends' homes (Glen served his mission in PA), as to not wear out our welcome in any one place.
So, Glen will be in San Antonio, TX from May 23-July 1, and in Carlisle, PA from July 11-August 19. We hope to sneak away to Arizona the week before his 1st internship, and to Utah the week before his 2nd internship. Cross your fingers!
I'm also seriously looking for a job! I've already interviewed twice with one place, and if that falls through I will be hitting up the banks! I'm hoping with a job like that it may be easy to transfer to a different branch for a few weeks if I go with Glen on his internships? Maybe? I'm not really sure. But my break is over, I'm getting restless and I want to make some money.
I've been falling in love with sewing, and I hope it lasts. People with A.D.D. are known for getting obsessed with things/hobbies and then dropping them quickly. It happens all the time with me. For this reason, Glen won't let me buy something that "I simply MUST have" until I've waited a week to see if it sticks. 95% of the time, I don't even remember. Thank goodness for husbands. But I have some sewing projects in the works that I am SO excited about! I'm a quick learner, so hopefully I'll be able to learn quickly and finish before I get bored. I'm thinking that I'll like sewing though.
So, the weather was getting beautiful recently, and as many of you have experienced, it's extremely cold now. I have felt bitter cold in Utah, but it's not usually cold AND windy. It is unbearable for me. I walked outside this morning to take Glen to the bus stop and the wind was literally taking my breath away. You know when you blow a puff of air in a baby's face and they scrunch it up and lose their breath for a second but then start laughing? (Maybe none of you responsible parents do this, but I've probably done it to your kids when you weren't looking cuz they love it. And it's hilarious!) That was me this morning minus the laughing. For that reason I have been inside all day and bored out of my mind. Thus this boring post. I have a plethora of friends that have recently had babies though so I've been reading all their blogs, so thank you friends who have had babies.
Alrighty. Enough for now. Stay warm!

End of Twenty-Ten
We are back!
I specifically chose not to write "we are home" because that term does not have a definite meaning yet. Home to me means Utah. In fact, often when I'm talking I subconsciously think I'm still in Utah. The other day I was talking about one of my friend's weddings and Glen asked where it would be. Without hesitating, I answered "She's getting married here, because that's where she's from."
Anyway, we took a nice, long, 5 week winter break. We spent 1.5 weeks in San Antiono, Texas, 2.5 weeks in Provo, Utah, and .85 of a week in Austin.
Although we were sad for the vacationing to be over, we were more than ecstatic to be back in our own bed. For the first part of our vacation we slept on an air mattress, and for the second part we slept on my old bed at home, both were probably a double or full sized. Don't get me wrong, we were grateful for the hospitality of both our families, but nothing beats your own bed. Our queen bed never felt so roomy.
When we got back into Austin (around midnight) we jumped right in bed and slept for something close to 15 hours straight. Unfortunately, Glen didn't get to recoup too much because he's been busy applying for internships, but we've definitely been catching up on our sleep.
Speaking of internships, we are happy to say that Glen has received a judicial internship for the first half of the summer in San Antonio, where he will be 1 of 3 interns that will get to follow a judge around in a federal court (I'm not really sure what any of this means) and apparently it is really good experience and looks great on a resume.
Our plans for the second half of the summer are still undecided. We are hoping to fill it with another internship where we can stay and visit with family, either in Pennsylvania, Arizona, or Utah.
Two posts ago I listed a bunch of presents we received from each other and from the Ellsworth family. I better finish off the list with things we received from the Nielsens and the rest of our presents to each other.
To Glen: Inception, The Great Mouse Detective (his favorite), Fantasia & Fantasia 2000 (Okay, he mentioned liking this but I really just wanted it for myself), and from my mom/family he got two books (read both of them already!), lots of clothes, lots of candy, cologne, and the game Bang!
To me: Lots of clothes! This was the best because I really haven't spent any money on fashion since we moved here. I also got a big recipe book and lots of jewelry. And from Glen I got a super cute outfit and Pink's Greatest Hits So Far... CD. Judge all you want! I like Pink!
Since my mom is a single mom now she works a lot, as well as two of my sisters. Because of this, Glen and I decided that we wanted to cook some meals for when everyone got home at night! It was a great success. I LOVED cooking in my mom's kitchen because she designed it so well (my parents built our house) with plenty of counter space! That is what I am seriously lacking, and probably will continue to lack until we have a house of our own. The counter was a good proximity from the spices, fridge, utensils, and cupboard. That sounds weird but that's how I felt. Did I mention counter space? Anyway, every dinner turned out great, and we even learned some new recipes. It was fun once Grandma Galan got into town and we could kind of cook side by side. That woman is my hero and I still have so much I want to learn from her!
I also got to visit with my Grandpa Nielsen, and interview him about his mother, my Farmor (father's mother, in Danish). Anna Katherine Oleson is who I am named after, so it was so neat to hear him tell us stories of her. He let us tape record him, so we can always have that on record. It turns out my Farmor and I are very similar, and that made me happy.
We had planned to drive to Colorado for New Years Eve and spend it with many of our family members and to hang out with Leslie and Don, but as many of you remember the weather was not too generous and prevented us from driving through the canyons to make it to Highlands Ranch. Instead, we threw a little party (that was later crashed by my 17 year old sister's friends. Don't worry, I didn't run upstairs crying out of anger and frustration...) and baked tons of treats. It was a lame substitute for what we were hoping to have in Colorado, but it sufficed.
I took quite a few pictures of our Texas and Utah trips but they are currently on Glen's flash drive, and he is out doing homework, so I'll have to post them later. Until then, goodbye!
