We Like to Celebrate Halloween

So before this weekend happens I better post some pictures from last weekend. It was super wonderful.

P.S. I'm sorry that I post a lot of pictures lately. In reality, you all probably like looking at pictures better anyway so I don't know why I'm apologizing. But I like writing better than posting pictures so really, this apology is to myself.

P.P.S. I don't really know why I'm using a post-script since it's at the beginning of my blog post. Can I even do this? There are a handful of English usage books on the shelf behind me but in the interest of time I think I'll just rule that this is okay. It is a pre-script I suppose.

Last Friday Glen and I drove to the temple in San Antonio (approx. 1.56 hours away) with our friends Mindy and Tyson. Besides being stuck in traffic FOREVER (30 minutes), it was a great experience. The session was delightful. Afterward, we ate at the Alamo Cafe. WE LOVE MEXICAN FOOD! The Mexican in me and the Texan in Glen make a great combination because we simply can't get enough. Mindy and Tyson are of European decent (white people) but they love Mexican food just as much as we do so it was a blast. Unfortunately I don't have pictures of that evening because 1) No cameras in the temple and 2) We were too busy stuffing our faces to remember to take pictures.

We made it back to Austin safely around midnight, and thus ended our Friday night.

On Saturday morning Glen's parents came up for a visit! It was "Bring Your Parents to School Day" or something like that, so we all went! We had breakfast at the law school, took a tour, sat in on a law class, and then participated in a mock trial. I'm not going to lie, I was pretty bored. I appreciated Glen's studentness so much more after going to the class. It was an interesting discussion, but the thought of having to go every day and think that hard did not seem fun.

Cindy and Gary got to be on the jury during the mock trial. They left for about 20 minutes after both cases had been heard, and they came back with nothing! They were a hung jury. Glen and I were very surprised, because we both thought it was obvious who the guilty party was. Oh well.

Here is Cindy talking to a fellow jury-mate:

This picture is blurry because I didn't want to use a flash in the courtroom! But there are Gary and Cindy on the end there.

Here is Gary, chipper as always:

After some lunch at Zoe's Kitchen (SO good!) Gary and Cindy went back home, and Glen and I watched Grey's Anatomy while making some crafts. Well, I watched Grey's Anatomy and made crafts while Glen watched me, probably wanting to use my hot glue gun to burn his retinas. He loves me!

Saturday night was also fun. Glen and I went to every Target, Walmart, and H-E-B (Utah Translation: Smith's) searching for Count Chocula! It was no where to be found. I almost cried. Seriously.

Nicole: I really need Count Chocula. Can we drive to another city to look for it somewhere else?
Glen: We are in another city.
Nicole: Well, I mean another city.
Glen: Nicole, we've already been to two different cities.
Nicole: Hangs head with a sad face
Glen: We'll find some, I promise, but we're like an hour late to our pumpkin carving party... we should probably head back now.

Needless to say, we chose a pumpkin and went over to Mindy and Tyson's. Then we carved away!

We then stayed up until almost 1am to play the funnest game in the world (a.k.a. the game I am currently obsessed with) BOHNANZA! It is so fun. Family, be prepared because I'm getting it for Christmas and we will play it.

(Glen was there, but he was the designated photographer for this one)

Mindy is giving Tyson the stink eye because he is proposing an unfair trade:

Glen bein' silly

I love this guy :)

We're going on a boat cruise tomorrow so we're super excited for that. Ta ta for now and Happy Week Before Halloween!
